In Omaha, Nebraska a teacher pleaded guilty to federal charges fleeing to Mexico with a 13-year old student to have sex. Kelsey Peterson 29 is sentenced to at least 70 months in prison. She is also facing more charges for fleeing the country and first-degree sexual assault from the state. The boy is an illegal immigrant. According to yahoo news, “the “U” visa is designed for victims of certain crimes and their families and needs the backing of someone involved with prosecuting, investigating or judging the case.” Kelsey family says the boy is 16 not 12 when the sexual acts began. Even if he was 16 she had no business having sex with him. If you love someone like you say you do why can’t you wait until he is legal. But, according to his birth certificate he is 14 right now. If he has a US birth certificate it has to be fake since they are in the country illegal. They can say he is however old they want if he is going to get a education. I just see something odd about this case. Now with the teacher being prosecuted the family is free to become US citizens. “He was an illegal immigrant in the United States when he left with Peterson. He’s now back in Nebraska temporarily after being granted humanitarian parole by the Department of Homeland Security.” But, the family has not been promised anything yet. Their attorney is going to ask for a visa so they can be on a path to citizenship. Am I the only one that sees something wrong with this?
